At the beginning of the nineties a Volvo 1800 slotcar was produced in 1:32 scale. It was the very first slotcar miniature of this English manufacturer with the name High Way 32. Available as readymade cars or as kits these slotcars are made with plastic or resiné called material, completed with clear plastic foil for the windows, with an interior showing a driver figure, with rubber tyres on chromed plastic spokewheels, with plastic made bumpers, grille and lights and screwed on a black bottom plate marked MRRC wearing the electric motor. External colour variations are white, white with "the Saint" logo, red and blue. This rare High Way 32 miniature portrays the Volvo 1800 S or 1800 E type. The manufacturer became better over the years with producing other slotcars. Some years later a more original looking remake of this first P 1800 slotcar was sold, now completed with chromed metal made bumpers, frontgrille, rear- and headlights. Windscreen wipers have been added to the car body and the interior was revalued too. This second series Volvo 1800 came either with the first series wheels and tyres or with 5 spoke Rallye wheels and wide tyres. All trims arond the windows are silver painted now as the side trims have been all the time. External colours of the ready made miniatures are white, silver, goldmetallic, red and lightblue. A white ready made version with a gangster figure sitting beside the driver and threatening "Simon Templar" with a pistol was available as well as a red Rallye version missing both bumpers and rolling on Goodyear "white letter" tyres, wearing racingnumber 30 and Esso adhesive labels.
