Asahi is a label of Ichiko, who produced the nice 1800 S with opening doors. The ambulance version of the 1800 ES was sold in boxes marked Asahi and the red civil car came in a box marked Ichiko. But both miniatures are marked "Ichiko, made in Japan" inside on the rear wall of the seats and both have the same remote control boxes and cables and the same bodywork, interior and other details.

All versions of the 1800 ES have the same plastic headlights, blue plastic windscreen and front grille as the 1800 S and red plastic rear lights in new 1800 ES design as well. The interiors are red, blue and white in colour, the blue dashboard is marked "Volvo" and has a black plastic steering wheel. Instead of the opening doors of the Ichiko 1800 S the blue plastic made rear window of the 1800 ES miniature opens.

The red car has a battery operated remote control and the same silvery plastic hubcaps as the 1800 S. It's box is yellow and white has the red 1800 ES on all sides, is marked Ichiko and has the description in Swedish.

The white ambulance miniature has battery operated remote control too and a working blue lights on the roof. It has red cross stickers on the doors and roof and is fitted with the sheet metal wheel covers with ventilation holes. The box of the ambulance car is blue and yellow with the white ambulance wagon on all sides. It is marked with Asahi and has English descriptions.

The Polis version of the 1800 ES is friction powered as the 1800 S, has plastic or sheet metal hubcaps and the same but not working blue lights on the roof as the Polis version of the coupé. The ES has the Polis stickers on the doors.
