This Volvo P 1800 miniature is made of brass. It is completely made in one piece and it is hollow inside. The wheels are not movable and two of them are screwed to the wooden base which has a silver metal shield with the inscription "Volvo P 1800".

These very rare miniatures portray the prototype version of the P 1800.

Today this brass modelcar is not easy to find but much more rare is the cigarette lighter version shown in the pictures above. At  first you can't see the difference but looking closer you will see hinges under the side windows of the right hand side.

The smoker can open the roof and inside he will find a small round fuel lighter, which is stuck in its fitting hole.

The manufacturer of these very nice Volvo coupés is not known.

Presumably the miniatures have been sold in Volvo showrooms and garages during the early sixties - or may be they have been nice presents for the real big Volvo car buyers.
